Have you ever tried to find any federal grants that could be helpful for you as an unemployed guy with an arm injury? Even if you are not (fortunately) disabled, you still might be able to qualify for some kind of federal assistance. You can browse AidPage and check at least what federal grants are available for the unemployed. If you plan to start your own home business not just work from home, you may also want to check if there are business startup grants and/or loans you are elligible for.
